OUR STORY.

OVER THE YEARS

In 2013, long-time ministry leaders and innovators Kyle Thompson and James Olson co-founded what would become the foundation of Catalyst-Together. Their shared passion for the local church—and their conviction that redemptive stories could move through the Church to change lives—led to the launch of Catalyst Resource Group. This first entity was created to help movie studios and distributors promote faith-based films to churches through relational, strategic, and data-driven campaigns. Since then, Catalyst Resource Group has executed church engagement campaigns for more than 50 theatrical releases. Kyle continues to lead this division as CEO / President.

As the team worked with more partners, it became clear that churches needed more than stories—they needed resources that would spark long-term discipleship. That insight gave birth to Catalyst Missions Group, a non-profit entity focused on helping large nonprofits and ministries activate the Church through projects and partnerships that go beyond promotion and into transformation. Whether leading child sponsorship campaigns, facilitating Compassion Sundays, or designing targeted marketing’s strategies for ethnic church engagement, Catalyst Missions Group helps mission-driven organizations build meaningful, lasting church partnerships. James Olson serves as President of this group, bringing his strategic leadership and pastoral heart to every initiative.

Catalyst-Together began with a clear vision: to serve the local church by connecting it with powerful, Christ-centered stories and tools that inspire deeper discipleship and broader influence. What started as a focused initiative to help movie studios reach churches has grown into a fully integrated mission engine—spanning media marketing, missional strategy, and church-centered technology.

In 2020, Catalyst expanded again—this time into technology. Recognizing the growing need for digital tools that serve and strengthen the Church, Catalyst acquired Sermon.net, a long-standing streaming platform trusted by over 2,300 churches.

In 2024, Sermon.net became the foundations for Together Technologies Inc., formed to power innovation for churches and networks. Under James’s leadership as CEO, the team is now developing the TogetherApp and other groundbreaking software designed to help churches grow deep and wide through media, connection, and shared content and appropriate uses of Ai.
